The RASĀ Way

We don't believe in
overnight miracles.

How we formulate, and the Ayurveda it rests on — explained plainly, with the source attached.

Rituals, not routinesFewer steps, done with intention and repeated long enough to matter. A ritual you keep beats a routine you abandon in three weeks.
Purpose over popularityIngredients earn their place by what they do — never by what's trending. If we can't say why it's in the formula, it isn't in the formula.
Balance over correctionWe support what your skin is already trying to do, rather than overriding it. Most irritation comes from over-correction.
Consistency over quick fixesSlow, honest change. No overnight promises we'd have to walk back, and no before-and-afters we couldn't defend.
How a RASĀ formula is built

Every blend starts with a named group of drugs.

Not with a trending active and a story written backwards from it. In the classical texts, herbs are organised into gana and mahakashaya — named groups indicated for a named purpose. That group is the brief. Formulation science then decides whether it can be delivered safely.

01

Indication

What is the skin doing?

Not the dosha in the abstract — the state in front of us. Dry and tight. Hot and reactive. Congested. Dull. The current state chooses the product; the constitution chooses how it's used.

02

Lineage

Where does the group come from?

A named gana from a named text, cited on the page you buy from. If we can't point to it, we don't claim it.

03

Delivery

Will it survive the jar?

Stability, preservation, pH, particle size, sensitiser load. A traditional formula that spoils in six weeks or irritates at 2% is not a finished product.

The rule most brands get wrong

A mask should never dry hard on the face.

Classical teaching on lepa is that it comes off before it dries out. A lepa left to dry aggravates Vata — which is exactly why over-dried clay leaves skin tight, flaky and worse than before. Ten to twelve minutes, removed while still slightly tacky.

Mix fresh

One level teaspoon (about 5 g) to 7–8 ml of liquid. Mix only what you need — never store the wet paste.

The liquid matters

Milk, rose water, aloe, buttermilk or honey-water are not interchangeable. Your constitution and your current state decide which.

Frequency is a dose

Once a week for dry skin, two to three times for congestion. More is not faster.

Transparency

What we will and won't say.

We will always

Publish the full ingredient list with percentages for actives. Name the classical group and the text it comes from. Flag known sensitisers by name, at their real percentage, on the product page rather than in the small print. And tell you when a product is wrong for you.

We will never

Use fear to sell. Promise a timeline we can't defend. Claim a product treats a medical condition. Show a retouched before-and-after. Or tell you that you need five products when you need two and a change of habit.

01

Doshas

Your constitution

Three energies govern every body — and every skin. Yours sits in a proportion nobody else shares. This is why the serum that transformed your friend's skin did nothing for yours.

02

Dinacharya

Daily rhythm

The power of a repeated ritual. Not a longer routine — a truer one, done at the right hour, in the right order, consistently enough for your skin to trust it.

03

Ritucharya

Living with the seasons

Your skin in a Delhi summer is not your skin in a Himalayan winter. Ayurveda changes the ritual as the season changes — because your body already has.

The distinction that changes everything

Prakriti is who you are.
Vikriti is how you are.

Most dosha quizzes online measure only the first, then sell you a product for it. But you don't have a skin problem because of the constitution you were born with — you have one because something has drifted away from it.

Prakriti · your nature

Set at conception, stable for life. It explains why you've always been dry, or always run hot, or always had thick skin with visible pores. It is not a problem to be fixed — it's the baseline you're returning to.

Vikriti · your current state

How you are in the last two to four weeks. Season, sleep, stress, travel, food and cycle all move it. This is what a ritual actually treats — and it's why the right product for you in July is not the right product for you in January.
